ming-hei wong
Ming-Hei Wong (Ronny) gained a BFA (Hons) degree at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) in 2007, majoring in contemporary dance. He performed a solo called 'dialogue' by Lam Po, presented in Hong Kong as part of an Asian choreographic collaboration in 2007. He represented HKAPA in performance tours to Berlin and Brussels with a piece called ‘Memory’ by Tsung-Lung Cheng in 2007, and has also been on tour to Perth, Malaysia in 2004 and Paris in 2005. In 2006, he joined Expression Dance Company in Brisbane, Australia on a short term internship. Ronny is the beneficiary of nine different scholarships. In 2007, he received a grant from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund to join Transitions Dance Company at Laban where he went on tour to Ireland, Norway and throughout the UK. Since leaving Transitions he has worked with Muddy Icon in the piece Spring Rites by Caroline Bridge. Recently he has toured Wales and England with a full length piece called Boulevard of Broken Dreams, a collaboration between the Mavron String Quartet, composer Charlie Barber and choreographer Jean Abreu. He has performed in the Young Vic Theatre Festival in The Nightgale directed by Lootie Johansen-Bibby. Currently Ronny is a member of Iratik Dance Theatre, as well as having just joined TBDC for the summer season.
