Yukiko Masui was born in Japan and has started her training in Hip-Hop and Latin dance at the age of 16. In 2008 she graduated in Performing Arts at Tamagawa University inTokyo. Yukiko has obtained her Diploma in Dance Studies at Laban Centre where she has been awarded with “The Sylvia Bodmer Prize” for her personal Hip-Hop research using Choreological Studies. She has been selected for the BBC programme ”So You Think You Can Dance” as one of the TOP 30 dancers where she has worked with Rambert Dance Company and the choreographer Kate Prince from Zoo Nation. Recently, Yukiko has toured with Transitions Dance Company nationally and internationally, with pieceschoreographed by Lucy Guerin, Martin Nachbar and Melanie Teall. She joined TBDT in August 2011.
