chantal francis

Chantal graduated from University of the Arts London, where she studied Theatre design, specialising in design for dance, before going on to study Dance performance at Birkbeck University of London, which culminated in a combined research and practical dissertation looking into the use and potential of costume as a choreographic tool in the creation of dance works, a topic which Chantal’s passionate about and one which is an ongoing topic of investigation within her own dance work. As an active Dance artiste with a background in classical ballet, choreography and devised performance, Chantal’s practice involves engaging imaginations in exploring the physical language of storytelling and the discovery of stimulating dialogues of creative expression. Chantal has worked within a variety of creative theatre and live performance contexts all of which have further enthused her passion for dance theatre and where she’s been able to develop an all rounded approach to working within the field of theatre, with a specific focus on management and artistic direction. Chantal is currently in the process of attaining her PTTLS qualification in Dance, and  is delighted to be working with the TBDC Youth Company as an advocate for the promotion of giving all those with a passion for performing, the chance to dance!
